Once again our professional drivers have proven their commitment to safety by achieving one million accident free kilometres. Daily they are on the roads, making it their business to ensure the safety of their vehicles as well as the motorists with whom we share the highways. This is a Puregas team effort where every person in the team contributes through awareness, focus and a general positive attitude towards safety.

Spending Time at the Ezibelini School

We demonstrated our commitment to socio responsibility by looking for an institute that could really benefit from our help. This was not an easy task as there are so many institutions out there that need assistance. After visiting the Ezibelini School (meaning school of mercy) for the physically challenged in Katlehong, Alberton, our decision became a lot easier. Puregas donated 30 beds and mattresses for the children.

The school caters for learners with multi disabilities. Many learners are incontinent as a result of their severe disabilities and need 24 hour supervision and monitoring. Income to run the school is derived from a government subsidy and only 25% of the parents can afford to pay the school fees (R110 for day scholars and R220 for live-in learners per month) as most of the learners come from impoverished backgrounds. Learners range from 5year to 21 years old and the school provides education and care from Grade R to Grade 9.

Many of the learners, of whom some are orphans, board at the school and there are not enough beds. It was with this in mind that we decided to donate the beds, after all every child deserves to sleep on a bed.

There are many other challenges the school faces i.e. not enough sporting equipment, no playground for Grade R learners, cots, paint, books for the library, disposable nappies etc etc. Should you be in a position to be able to offer any assistance to the school, please call Kim Isherwood (HR Manager) on 011 903 9760 or the school direct on 011 909 3918. On Wednesday, 7th September Puregas hosted the Annual Partnership Awards. This year the Awards were done in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary celebration. The event was held at the stunning Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton with the magnificent Sandton skyline as the backdrop. READ MORE

Puregas Celebrating 40 Years in the Industry

Friday the 29th of July saw Puregas celebrating 40 years in the industry - an achievement we are very proud of.

Goes to show that hard work, smart business acumen, strong leadership, and a dedicated team can accomplish great things!

To celebrate the event, a lively staff function was held at Cantare Monte Casino. The function included live music as well as the Cantare Madi Gras dancers.

A great time was had by all.

LAB Africa 2011 Expo was a great success!

A special thanks to all our customers who braved the icy weather to visit our stand.

Puregas Speciality Gas department once again exhibited at the Lab Africa Expo 2011 held at the Coca Cola Dome from 7th - 9th June. Despite tight economic times a number of people visited our stand and were suitably impressed with our product range. The exhibition was very active with a wide range of exhibitors displaying a range of laboratory equipment for medical, industrial, research and academic laboratories. READ MORE
