ISO 9001:2008 Quality management system - Conformance
|
Puregas recently had their 4th ISO 9001 re-certification audit. Since November 1999 Puregas has been successful in 3 different versions of the ISO 9001 standard.
The latest version recently introduced is the ISO 9001:2008. In September 2009, Puregas was audited and found to be compliant to the 2008 version.
ISO 9001:2008 Quality management systems - Requirements are intended for use in any organization regardless of size, type or product (including service). It provides a number of requirements which an organization needs to fulfill to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services which meet customer expectations. It includes a requirement for continual (i.e. planned) improvement of the Quality Management System.
ISO 9001 promotes the process approach to managing an organization, and requires the QMS to consider the organization as a series of interlinked processes.

What are processes, inputs and outputs?
Every organization is made up of a series of interacting processes. A process is a set of activities that uses resources (people, machines, etc.) to transform inputs into outputs. The process approach considers the interaction between these processes, and the inputs and outputs that tie these processes together. The output of one process becomes the input of another. It can either be product wise or service related.
The ISO 9001 Standard is designed to manage and improve these processes.
